The St. Paul's Players Proudly Present
april 18 - 20
The wonderfully talented St. Paul’s Players present this year’s Spring Show, “Aladdin, Jr!” with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice. Disney’s classic hit is musical fun for the entire family. Enjoy the choral melodies of “Arabian Nights” and “Prince Ali.” Watch as Aladdin and Princess Jasmine escape from the evil Jafar in “One Jump Ahead,” and as they fall in love with “A Whole New World.” Laugh and sing along as the Genie transforms Aladdin in “Friend Like Me!”
This bright, fast-paced, fun-filled show will be presented, under the direction of Jody Powell, in the Dr. Monte L. Moorer Theater at St. Paul’s Episcopal School on April 18-20. Show times are at 7:00 April 18-20 with a matinee at 2:00 on April 20. Tickets are $10; $5 for the matinee, and go on sale March 18. Spring Show, under the direction of Jody Powell, is an opportunity for our incredibly talented students to exercise their musical and acting abilities. Each year potential cast members audition in December and begin practice as soon as secondsemester is under way. The cast works tirelessly for three months to produce a show that is a step above typical “high school theater.” Spring Show staff members demand hard work, dedication, and creativity as students mature throughout the process. Choreography, costuming, and set construction enhance the finished product, making this a popular highlight each year at St. Paul’s.
Past shows include:
- “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”,
- “Bye Bye Birdie”,
- “Guys and Dolls”,
- “Annie Get Your Gun”
- “Little Shop of Horrors!”
- "The Music Man"
