6th Grade Class Trip to Kanuga
The 6th grade class trip to the Mountain Trail Outdoor School at Kanuga Episcopal Camp and Conference Center each October is viewed as one of the most important trips at St. Paul’s Episcopal School. It is a perfect opportunity for students to grow together as a class and develop a lifelong bond.
The trip offers educational components that focus on spirituality, character building, wildlife ecology, plant ecology, outdoor living, and self-confidence. The students go to daily chapel services to experience God’s grace in the beautiful and picturesque Appalachian Mountains.
The spiritual component of the trip is highlighted by the students first Communion as a St. Paul’s Episcopal student. Students are also encouraged to journal during five days of their trip as a way to record their thoughts and strengthen the spiritual truths they are learning. This trip is just one of the many ways St. Paul's Episcopal School demonstrates its desire to nurture the spiritual and character development of every student.
